Our Presence at Sporting Events

Through its brands, ABEO is present at many sporting events of every scale - local, national, international - including the most prestigious: the Olympic Games. From Melbourne 1956 to Paris 2024, the Group's Olympic adventure has been written for 68 years through its companies offering gymnastics, basketball and climbing equipment. Spieth (13 editions), Janssen-Fritsen (5), Schelde Sports (9), Gymnova (3) and EP Climbing (2) have equipped a total of 16 Olympiads. And let's not forget Acman, which on several occasions supplied the stage podiums (used to raise the competition platforms), and Navic, which equipped the Saint-Denis Olympic Aquatic Center for Paris 2024.

Our Ties with Federations and Athletes

The events that punctuate the lives of certain brands are the result of close relationships with national and international sports federations. Schelde Sports is a perfect example: linked to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 1993, it is, among other things, an official supplier of 3x3 basketball competitions until 2032. In 2007, EP Climbing participated in the creation of the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), before becoming its official supplier in 2020.

Our Efforts to Develop New Disciplines

The close relationships between ABEO and sports federations enable them to join forces in promoting emerging sports. In 2022, the Group launched Brick, a parkour equipment brand that contributes to the growth of the discipline by co-organizing tours with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). The Brick Parkour Asian Tour in August 2023 and the Brick Parkour Caribbean Tour in June 2024 took place in nearly ten countries. The modules were then transferred to local federations, who are now promoting parkour at their level.

Developing Our Inclusive Offer

ABEO is working to develop products that are increasingly inclusive: for people of all skill levels and ages, whether able-bodied or with disabilities, and for customers with all types of budgets. For example, EP Climbing is developing solutions that promote para-climbing, such as an adaptable module designed for the competition walls at the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The Group also supports innovative projects that incorporate scalable and interactive equipment to facilitate learning and participation for people with specific needs, through an approach that combines inclusion, safety, and performance.

Our Support for Sports for Children

Established at the initiative of its Dutch subsidiary, Janssen-Fritsen, this foundation collects end-of-life sports equipment, refurbishes it, and makes it available to sports federations, clubs, and schools that lack the resources to purchase it. To fund its work, it also creates leather goods and home decor items from the collected equipment. Since its founding in 2011, Sports For Children has equipped 590 schools, benefiting more than 410,000 children.
