Vogo and the International Ski Federation (FIS) : video refereeing enters a new era

For the 2025–26 season, VOGO once again partnered with the International Ski Federation (FIS). After several seasons of gradually integrating replay and remote judging solutions, the FIS has this year rolled out a comprehensive, standardised video-refereeing system designed to cover all major international competitions.

This season marked a decisive step in the collaboration between VOGO and the FIS. The system was no longer just occasional technological support: it became a foundational structure, progressively deployed in more than ten countries, enabling the standardisation of video refereeing throughout the World Cup calendar.

A next-generation system

The system was designed to:

• Deploy lightweight, mobile solutions that are easy to transport and set up at each venue.
• Enable FIS teams to operate the system independently, without the need for external operators.
• Gather footage from official host broadcasters worldwide, in collaboration with Infront (a company managing media rights and the production of international sporting events to centralise reliable footage for refereeing).
• Adapt to a wide range of technical and logistical environments (mountainous terrain, extreme weather, and varying infrastructures).
• Harmonise refereeing practices despite the diversity of competitions and host countries.

Concrete results

Thanks to this system, VOGO covered three World Cups: Ski Cross, Snowboard Cross, and Alpine Snowboarding, across more than 50 competition days in over 10 countries. It enabled the standardisation of live decisions (video review), optimised refereeing, and facilitated the sharing of footage between judges and officials.
