A 14-Metre EP Climbing Wall Above the Water for The North Face Climb Festival

31/07/2026

On 17 and 18 July 2026, London’s Royal Victoria Dock hosted The North Face Climb Festival: two days of climbing combining competition, taster sessions and music. EP Climbing delivered the event’s temporary climbing facilities, including a spectacular wall above the water and a bouldering area open to visitors.

With free admission by advance booking, the festival featured head-to-head climbing contests, workshops, talks and expedition film screenings. The programme brought climbing enthusiasts and newcomers together on London’s waterfront.

Head-to-Head Competition on EP Climbing’s 14-Metre Wall

At the heart of the festival, the deep-water solo wall allowed competitors to climb without ropes above the water. Athletes went head-to-head from the qualifying rounds through to the finals.

EP Climbing supplied the structure, along with the holds and volumes used to shape the routes. The Impact Route Setting team designed the climbs, combining technical challenges with spectacular moves above the dock.

EP Climbing also worked with Loc’n Bloc to create a recreational bouldering area for visitors of all ages and abilities. Spectators could try the sport for themselves and experience the thrill of climbing.

Having contributed to previous editions in London and San Francisco, EP Climbing returned with two installations serving distinct purposes: hosting the competition and giving the wider public an opportunity to take part.
