Schelde Sports at the heart of a historic Women’s Basketball World Cup

21/09/2026

From September 4 to 13, 2026, Berlin welcomed the world’s 16 best national teams for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. Schelde Sports, FIBA Official Technical Supplier since 1994, equipped every game with its Super SAM 325 Pro basketball backstops.

Ten days of competition, two arenas and a global audience: the 2026 Women’s World Cup marked another milestone in the growth of women’s basketball. With more than 3.3 billion social media impressions, the tournament achieved record visibility, according to FIBA. It also provided a major international stage for Schelde Sports, whose equipment supported the players from the opening tip-off to the final.

More than three decades of trust at the highest level

Across the Berlin Arena and Max-Schmeling-Halle, the Super SAM 325 Pro backstops stood at the heart of every game. This presence builds on a longstanding relationship with FIBA, with Schelde Sports serving as Official Technical Supplier through 2028. For the Group, it demonstrates the expertise of its companies and their ability to support major international sporting events.

That commitment will continue at upcoming milestones, including the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 in Qatar and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

A legacy beyond the tournament

In Berlin, Schelde Sports’ involvement also extended to the local community. The company teamed up with basketball collective HereToHoop Berlin to refurbish and reopen a court at YAAM, a community arts and culture space near the Uber Arena. The project aims to give young people greater access to basketball and support the next generation of players.

From international arenas to neighbourhood courts, Schelde Sports brings its expertise to basketball and the people who play it.
