Janssen-Fritsen innovates in 2026 with the launch of its new circular gymnastics mat, a piece of equipment that combines performance, durability and environmental responsability.

A sustainable and responsible design

This new circular mat is designed to combine athletic performance with a reduced environmental impact. It is made from over 80% recycled materials and can be recycled at more than 95% at the end of its life. To enhance its sustainability, it features leather corners made from offcuts of other equipment, vegetable-tanned without harmful chemicals. The mat's coating uses 40% fewer primary materials without compromising quality or safety.

An expanding circular product range

This mat is part of a range of circular products already developed by Janssen-Fritsen, reflecting the company's focus on sustainability. This range already includes the circular vaulting table, recyclable balls and accessories, and other game equipment redesigned with circularity in mind. This approach reduces the use of primary resources while maintaining performance and safety.

A structured CSR approach

The launch of this new circular mat is part of Janssen-Fritsen's overall CSR strategy. The company is actively reducing its environmental impact by limiting the use of primary materials, developing recycled or recyclable products, lowering CO₂ emissions, and optimizing transport. The equipment is designed to last, with spare parts available for up to 20 years to minimize waste. Janssen-Fritsen is also committed to reusing and refurbishing equipment through the Sports for Children Foundation, while supporting social initiatives that promote safe working conditions, diversity, and training.
