Prospec Equips the New Changing Rooms at Walnuts Leisure Centre

In Orpington, south-east London, Prospec supplied lockers and cubicles from its Marathon range for the refurbishment of Walnuts Leisure Centre. The sports and swimming facility reopened in July 2026 following a £17 million transformation led by Bromley Council.

With swimming pools, a gym and indoor sports facilities, the centre caters to a wide range of users. The refurbishment modernised the pools, expanded the gym across two floors and refreshed the reception areas. A sauna, steam room and children’s water play features complete the offering.

Marathon Range: Designed for Busy Changing Facilities

Prospec worked alongside leisure development specialist Alliance Leisure, main contractor Etec and GT3 Architects. Its Marathon lockers and cubicles now equip the refurbished changing areas.

The range includes solutions built to withstand intensive use in wet environments. Its compact laminate models combine strength and water resistance, while lockers designed for swimming facilities use materials suited to humid, chlorinated conditions. Features that make cleaning and drainage easier also help maintenance teams with their daily tasks.

A Centre Redesigned for the Local Community

Operated by Mytime Active, the centre also benefits from improved pool access for people with reduced mobility and a new heating system designed to lower running costs. The refurbishment enhances the visitor experience throughout the facility, from the sports areas to the changing facilities equipped by Prospec.
