2018 sees ABEO supply equipment for the Commonwealth Games for a third time in a row

Designer, manufacturer and distributor of sports and recreational equipment ABEO announces that its brand Spieth Gymnastics, leader on the gymnastics market, has been designated official supplier for the next Commonwealth Games. These games will take place from 4 to 15 April 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia. The agreement signed between ABEO and the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee covers all the facilities for the gymnastics events. As president of the Organising Committee, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation, Peter Beattie AC stated: “We chose the leading global brand Spieth to ensure athletes would be competing on world class equipment”. In the same spirit as the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games is a multisport competition held every four years since 1930 (with the exception of 1942 and 1946), drawing the best athletes from the 70 commonwealth countries and nations. In April 2018, Gold Coast will welcome 6600 athletes from 25 different disciplines. In terms of gymnastics, the male athletes will compete in six disciplines: floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar. The events for the female gymnasts will include vault, bars, beam and floor. “After the Glasgow Games in 2014 and the New Delhi Games in 2010, we are more than happy once again to provide our expertise and experience gained through past successes, such as the Rio Olympic Games, for this major competition”, declared Olivier Estèves, ABEO’s Chairman.
