On 25 and 26 February 2017, The Roof climbing centre in Brest (Brittany) will host the 2017 French youth bouldering championship.

The Roof has become one of the few privately-owned climbing centres to host an official French climbing championship.

In 2017, the French youth difficulty climbing championship will be organised in Quimper, making Brittany one of the base camps for young aspiring climbing champions with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in their sights. Climbing will be part of the official Olympic programme for the first time.
